В поисках, чем украсить рабочий стол, забрёл давеча на одну коллекцию обоин. Как обычно, выложены превьюхи, и рядом указаны размеры, в коих данные картинки имеются в наличии. После клика на "свой" размер, картинка открывается меньше ожидаемой, а сверху - приписочка: "Actual image size is larger than appears - Click here for Help". Что ж, кликаю на "Хелп". Выскакивает окошко, где этот фенОмен объясняется:

Why are the wallpapers so small?
Well they're not really. I use an HTML trick so they fit normally on the page but are in fact at a higher resolution and look great when installed as backgrounds.

Потом идут инструкции, что и как с этими картинками делать:

Windows Instructions...
When the image has finished loading, put the cursor on top of the image, hold down the right mouse button and select "set as wallpaper." or "set as background." on newer versions of Windows.

Macintosh Instructions...
When the image has finished loading, hold down the mouse button until a pop-up menu appears allowing you to "download image to disk." When the image is saved, you will use the Appearance Control Panel to set it as a desktop picture.
